Filing back taxes

I need to file back taxes, starting with 2020. When I attempt to do it via TurboTax, I only see an option for 2022 and later. Is there a way to use the software for earlier years?

TurboTax does not support tax years prior to 2022.

You can see if there are other services using this IRS website - https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/browse-all-offers/

Or seek out a local tax professional who can assist you in completing tax returns prior to 2022.

As @DoninGA stated, TurboTax generally only supports the current year plus three prior years. You can purchase the desktop version of TurboTax 2022, 2023, or 2024 here.

There is a limit on how far back you can file a tax return to claim tax refunds and tax credits. The IRS only allows you to claim refunds and tax credits within three years of the tax return's original due date. See this tax tips article for more information.
