This has become ridiculous! TurboTax was complete last year at this time. Yet, now I have to continue to wait.

I did see on a Community post where you can switch to Forms view and manually fill in the 1099-R sections, with the caveat that you will have to verify them using the regular software steps, once the upgrade is released. Kind of kludgy, but I was able to at least get a decent approximation of my tax liability today, rather than next week. I would not file my taxes using the 1099R Forms approach only. I am using Turbo Tax Deluxe. FWIW.

I did get a Glimpse of my Refund this year, using the Forms.

But, will have to wait until TURBO TAX Updates the entire software program for proper calculations!

From another Communities post, that is my understanding. To make sure that all of the calculations are correct. what I hear is that you will have to open the 1099-R section from the Wages/Income tab, once it is available, and 1) follow the prompts and 2) verity that they entries you made via the form are still there and are exactly as you desire then do the usual Confirm, Save, etc.

Kind of a pain, but glad (like myself) that using Forms helped you get a refund glimpse. Well done!

Please check forms availability here. Select online, Windows, or Macintosh from the drop down menu. Whenever the federal and states change a form, we have to as well. This happens throughout tax season.

It takes some time to incorporate IRS forms into TurboTax. While they may be available from the IRS on a given date, we need a few days to make the forms available for use in TurboTax.

The Form 1099-R section was updated in the TurboTax online editions at approximately 9pm Eastern on 01/21/2026. The desktop editions were updated on 01/22/2026.

Using Turbo Tax Deluxe Desktop, Filling in info for my 1099-R. For Box 15, the State drop down does not have a selection for Texas. The only state beginning with the letter T is for TN.

@stevehtx Since Texas doe not have a personal income tax, leave boxes 14, 15 and 16 blank (empty) on the Form 1099-R.

Have you confirmed with your sources that the forms you downloaded were actually available? TurboTax will attempt to import forms and report success, even when the forms have not been released. Many 1099's are not posted to websites until after January 31.

However, upon returning to TT, no data was added to my forms. When will this issue be corrected?

According to my brokerage, some of the forms were available 1/8/26 (1099-R), some 1/24/26 (1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-B). I re-tried the download again today and the above exercise was repeated but still no data loaded to TT. I viewed and downloaded all the forms to my laptop on January 25, 2026. Not sure why this is not working.

Check your broker account settings to confirm that 'third party access' is allowed. You may want to disable anti-virus software also. As @PatriciaV states above, if TurboTax is able to connect, it may report an import when nothing was actually transferred.

The forms are in a certain format to import from the broker, and those may not be ready yet. You could try to confirm this with them.

You may consider using the Summary Method to enter transactions. In TurboTax Online, you can drag/drop a PDF copy of a 1099-B into a return. Some users do this, then transfer the online return to TurboTax Desktop.
