I prepared my 1099's and 1096 transmittal sheet on the desktop version. When I saved the file and printed, the 1096 form shows the 2024 tax year whereas the 1099s correctly show the 2025 tax year.

How do I edit the 1096 to show the correct year?

You probably have to wait a week or 2 for the forms to be ready to efile. I think last year was Jan 6 . For 2023 it was Jan 10. Are you going to efile or mail the forms? If you efile the 1096 is not sent but is only for your own records.

I am having the same concern. The tax year shows 2024 on the 2025 1096.
