What do you mean by "open?" The 2025 tax software has been available for weeks now, both desktop download and online. The IRS has not yet begun to accept e-files if that is what you mean. E-filing is not yet open for 2025 returns. The IRS will not begin to accept returns until late January.

Both the Online version and Desktop program are available since early December. The Online version is “open” now. What problem are you having? Do you have a n Online account from last year? Just log into your account to start 2025.
