IND-032-04 - 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt'

I have tried to e-file my 2024 federal tax return 3 times, and I keep getting this error - "IND-032-04 - 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt'"

Last year I did not use TurboTax to file my return but I do have a copy of the 2023 return. I used the AGI on line 11 from the 2023 return. I also downloaded Tax Return transcripts from the IRS website for both myself and my wife (we filed "married filing jointly" in 2023 and 2024). The AGI on the 2023 return matches the AGI on the tax return transcripts I downloaded from the IRS. Why does it keep getting rejected? I don't want to paper file due to the long processing times the IRS has for paper filings.

Sometimes the IRS efile database is screwed up and incomplete, especially if you filed late in the year last year.

Try using the total 2023 AGI for you--from the original return, not an amended return (if any), and for your spouse enter an AGI of 0 (zero).

I have the same issue (same error message). There is no option to zero out spouse's AGI in Turbo tax (desktop version) as there is only one popup for married filing jointly to enter AGI. can you please help to guide on how to get the AGI popup for spouse to make it zero? Appreciate your help. Thanks

Sorry, I have no way to test that but have a suggestion. People normally do not have any trouble changing the Spouse AGI. I've not seen anyone say there was only a single input like that. Since you said "popup", I'm wondering if you're looking at some kind of "Fix It" popup that you were presented after the rejection. If so, I would not use the popup and instead go through the FILE section again and see if you can encounter the original separate AGI inputs for the Primary Filer and the Spouse. If you continue to encounter a problem, report back.
