Can't bypass Updates for TurboTax 2023 on Win 11 PC

I have spent about 3 hours trying to install TT2023 on my new Win 11 desktop. Part of those 3 hours have been reading all the posts I can find about bypassing the update process. (TTax 2024 download is fine, but I like to have the last 3 years installed if I need to go back to past years.) I have done the following:

1. Uninstalled and re-installed 4 times - using default location for install

2. Right-click to 'run as administrator'

3. Turned off anti-virus programs

4. Downloaded the 'superpatch' for this year and it tells me that I do not have 2023 installed??

The main problem is that the 'No' button for doing an update is greyed out so I cannot bypass the update, my only choice is to say yes and then it fails. What else can be done???

How are you trying to install 2023? Are you logging into your Online account? The download in your account should have all the updates in it. Did you say yes or continue? Why do you want to bypass the update?

Hi,

I have a CD so I am installing from there to my PC - not online. I did say 'Yes' to the update but nothing happens, other than sometimes I get an error message saying that the download program or the updater is not installed. I have checked the install and both programs are there in the folders they should be in. (Since 2023 is a past year I generally don't update once I file taxes - so saying 'No' to the update is not an issue)

See if you have the download in your account. Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac). And the download will always be up to date with all the updates.

Downloading the software (instead of installing from the CD) and then putting in my licence code worked - thank you!
