I am getting a Zip Code doesn't match state error on APO address. It will not let me move on without fixing it but I have no further information I can add. How to fix?

Day care has an APO address on their tax form and I put it in fine last year but now i can't move on from the error.

In the My Info section of the online tax return, when entering the mailing address, in the box for Type of Mailing Address, did you select from the dropdown, Military (APO, FPO, or DPO)?

I have tried the app and the website and there is no drop down for mailing address type. "Let's get some info about your care provider"

It asks for Employer Identification Number, Social Security of care provider or Other.

I added the EIN and the mailing info and it doesn't have an AP option for state, only Foreign or US Territory.

You should use the provider's home of record (HOR) address or, for on-base centers, the Department of Defense (DOD) address. If the provider is a foreign national, you can use your own HOR address. If your dependent care provider is located overseas in an area with an APO address, follow these steps to enter their information in TurboTax:

For on-base Child Development Centers (CDCs)

If you use a CDC on a military installation, TurboTax support recommends using the DOD address for Child Development Centers.

Address: 111 Constitution Ave NW, Room 1232
City: Washington
State: DC
Zip Code: 20224

For other dependent care providers

If the provider is a U.S. citizen: Use their U.S. Home of Record (HOR) address.

If the provider is a foreign national: Use your own Home of Record (HOR) address.

How to enter the foreign provider information in TurboTax

Navigate to the Child and Dependent Care Credit section.
On the screen titled "Let's get some info about your care provider," select Other.
Choose the option for Foreign Provider. This will bypass the U.S. state and zip code validation.
Enter the name of the provider and then their address, city, and country. You can enter an on-base city and country if needed.
