You amended your return today. Did you include the $100 they already took out of your account on your amended form? You make it sound like you owed $100 or both the original and amended return. If there was no change in tax liability, I'm not sure you needed to file.

You won't be able to track an amended return immediately. See Where’s My Amended Return?

If you need to cancel the payment, you can cancel a direct debit at least 2 days before the debit is scheduled and 7 days after filing. You can call the IRS payment department at 888-353-4537.

Amended Return 2024

I amended my 2024 tax return today 4/9/2025. I owed the IRS $100 & got back $0. I paid the $100 because they took it out of my account when I filed the first time & still got $0 back. I then amended my return today to see what I did wrong, and it’s still the same thing. I really hope they do not take the $100 out my account again because I already paid it the first time I filed my returns. This is ridiculous. It’s already hard to even get through to someone or a representative. Then when I try to look up the status of my return, it won’t let me because the amount needs to be greater than $0. Which is also ridiculous because my return status amount, is not greater than $0 according to the IRS. Please help me resolve this issue. I worked two jobs the year of 2024 to not get any of my taxes back this year. Considering I also paid the due balance of $100 as well.

I did amend it today, & it was already accepted today. Federal & state. I did not know I could include that I already paid the due balance of $100 on my amended return :(. I did owe $100 on the original return which I paid & it does say I owe $100 on the amended return too. As well as $0 due back to me. & thank you, I will definitely be calling that number you provided.
