    <description>&lt;P&gt;With the new irs guidance on ma PFML, do I have to amend my 2023 taxes if I did not include it for 2023? once i did it, it was taxing me as if it was unemployment. But with the new law from my understanding it is not suppose to?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;No you should not have to fil&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;e and amended return for 2023. &amp;nbsp;The IRS guidance applies to payments received after January 1, 2025. &amp;nbsp;Here is the what is listed, "&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(20,20,20);font-size:14px;"&gt;On January 15, 2025, the IRS issued&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/rr-25-04.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt; Revenue Ruling 2025-4&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(20,20,20);font-size:14px;"&gt;, which explains the federal income tax implications of benefits received from a state administered paid family and medical leave program that mirrors the PFML program.&amp;nbsp; The federal guidance is effective for payments made on or after January 1, 2025."&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
