Are you trying to download and install the 2024 program or a prior year? Was your previous computer Windows? If you can get into your Intuit account you can download the program again and even get the Mac download if you used the Windows os before. Your 16 digit License Code will also be listed.

Here’s mine. At the top you can get the download for the other os.

I am unable to access my TurboTax app or files without the activation code, which I have but doesn’t work. I have tried to log into my Intuit TurboTax account and do not receive the codes it says have been sent. This is the first time my account info has worked.

I believe the problem is because TurboTax was authorized on my previous desktop computer. I upgraded to a new iMac M3 in August 2024 and so this device is apparently not authorized. Is there a way for me regain access to my account and files now?

If you downloaded the windows version of TurboTax it will not work on a MAC. The file types are different. The Windows is a .exe while the MAC is a .dmz.

You would need to call product support @ 1-800-446-8848 to see if there is anything they can do as this would be a completely separate download/program.

Hi-

Thanks for your response. I have an iMac M3, previously had an Intel iMac desktop. I'm not trying to download any Windows product. I had TurboTax Premier 2023 Tax Year installed on the Intel, approved for 1 device ... that one. Now I have all TurboTax files on the M3 but cannot access them because the activation key was used on the iMac Intel. I have reached out several times to the company I purchased TT Premier 2023 asking for a new activation key but have had no response. When I log into my Intuit account and can download TT Premier 2023, it gives me the same activation code which does not work for the new M3 desktop. Actually, I have several years of TT dating back to 2014 that cannot be accessed for the same reason ... no activation code.

I need 2023 ... what can I do to get it back?

You should be able to use the license code to install the desktop software 5 times. Contact Support and find out what the problem is with your license/activation code. Can I install TurboTax on more than one computer?

TurboTax Desktop Download Account
