topic Form 8843 in Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I am a J1-exchange visitor (research scholar). But this (2024) is my 4th tax-year (first arrived in the US on Oct 26, 2021). And as far as understood from IRS website, J1 scholars are non-residents for their first two calendar years. But since I am here for more than 2 years, I suppose I am considered a "resident alien"? I submitted my tax return last year using TurboTax.

However, my employer university has changed in 2024, and they mentioned in an email "all J-1 scholars must submit form-8843". Is that applicable to me too?

No, since you are filing as a resident this year, you do not need to fill out form 8843. You would only file an 8843 if you were in the two-year exempt period and need to explain why you are exempt from the substantial presence test for tax purposes. you are past the two-year exempt period.
