Why can't turbo tax do interview questions on claim of right and use your previous 2023 return to calculate the claim of right. Had a repayment of relocation bonus. Pain of a time to recalculate. Also dont forget if you have a similar problem that you should ask your employer for a corrected W2-c. If they refuse file form 843 with the IRS for over payment of medicare and social security.

There are cases where the claim of right repayment refers to income recorded over multiple tax years. Some or all of the tax years may not have been prepared using TurboTax software.

I’ve been using TurboTax for like 10 years. Please ask developers to add this in. Would be a big part of me leaving TurboTax to a regular accountant if I have to go back and calculate this on my own. If you have all the precision years tax return files from TurboTax this is nothing more than a calculation instead of significant work on the customer.
