If you are married, you must file either MFJ or MFS. Take the <A href="https://www.irs.gov/help/ita/what-is-my-filing-status" target="_blank">IRS Filing Status quiz</A>.</P> <P>Your child may be your dependent, depending on the agreements between you and your wife along with any court documents.
