It is a non-refundable credit. It can only bring your owing down but cannot give you a refund back. Please refer to this &lt;A href="https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/deductions-credits-expenses/line-32300-your-tuition-education-textbook-amounts/transferring-carrying-forward-amounts.html" target="_blank"&gt;CRA link&lt;/A&gt;. Your unused Tuition fee will be carried forward automatically to the next year.&lt;/P&gt;
