How do I enter a payment?

My final TurboTax number is not reflecting a payment I made to IRSW in March. How do I enter that?

If you are referring to the amount owed as shown on the TurboTax Tax Home screen and you have filed the 2024 tax return. That amount will remain as TurboTax has no way to know when or if the taxes owed were ever paid.

If you have not filed the return, you can enter it as a payment.

Log into TurboTax

Deductions & Credits
Scroll to Estimates and Other taxes paid
Drop down will show Income Taxes Paid
Select Payments with 2024 federal extension
Post the payment

If you've already filed, you can check payments on the IRS website

Online account for individuals

I had not filed- I had not filed and could not get back to the payments and credits section. My bonus came through and I wanted to make a payment out of that before taking care of other things, so I did, but I couldn't get back to enter it in payments and credits.

I finally googled it and that popped up the correct link.
