Form 4684 update.

My taxes are due in 30 days, but still I can't file because you haven't updated Form 4684 which is preventing me from filing me return since it causes an error during the analysis process. When exactly do you plan on having this issue resolved? Telling us your working on it doesn't help. I need to file taxes or do I need stop using Turbo Tax after 15 yrs and switch to competitor to be able to file my taxes?

Due to federal legislation recently passed, the allowable casualty loss claim on federal Form 4684 - Casualties and Theft Loss for major disasters has changed. There are some states that have not yet confirmed to TT whether they will conform with the IRS treatment of the casualty losses deduction from a federally declared disaster when a Standard Deduction is taken.

There'll be an update on 3/20/25, that should allow all of the states that have still not conformed with the IRS treatment to e-file. If the state later decides not to conform, you would need to file an amendment.
