      <description>&lt;P&gt;You should have filed part-year resident returns in both states.&amp;nbsp; I will leave the amending instructions below.&amp;nbsp; On the Federal return, you should have indicated that you live in IA but also that you moved from MN on June 1, 2018.&amp;nbsp; Then you will allocate your income between states on your state returns.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;MN -&amp;nbsp;Income received while a resident of Minnesota or from Minnesota sources is computed and divided by federal AGI. Tax is figured on total income, then the percentage is applied to the tax amount.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;IA -&amp;nbsp;Iowa net income includes income received while a resident of Iowa and any Iowa-source income received while a nonresident.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;
