Resubmitting (e-file) state return because of TT update

I need to resubmit (e-file) state return because of TT update that happened after I submitted and paid Federal Taxes. Tax due was taken from my checking account. This state filing has no refund and no tax due. TT is asking to change payment date on Federal filing to be after today’s date. I afraid to do so, because I scared that federal tax due will be taken again from my checking account.

What should I do to make sure that I will not pay twice?

Tell the system not to efile the federal return. You have already filed it and you do not need to submit it again. Tell it that you will print and mail the federal return.
