      <title>Unable to import my data from E*Trade - userid error message</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;When attempting to download my data from E*Trade into Turbotax I get the following message, "Please enter your E*Trade user name that you use to log on to your E*Trade account(s)". That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm 100% sure that I'm entering the correct userid.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BTW, when I call Intuit for help I'm told to manually enter the data.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Although you might be able to view or print your information from the website, most banks, brokerages and other financial institutions do not have the data formatted for import into tax software before sometime in February.&lt;SPAN class="Apple-converted-space"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;So if you are wanting to enter it sooner, you have to key it in by hand. &lt;SPAN class="Apple-converted-space"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;Or….wait until it is available for import.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you want to enter it manually, click the option that says “I’ll type it in myself”&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for the response. The error message is inaccurate. I'm surprised that agents answering customer phone calls aren't aware of that. Appreciate your help, I'll wait a few weeks and try to import the data again.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;My trade passed is right, but some how turbotax don't import. Keep search few minutes, then give no error message and goes quite to login screen. &amp;nbsp;Any help anyone can suggest from Turbotax team ?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Go to&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Profile &amp;gt; Security Settings &amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;Change user ID&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Here you'll see the user ID (case sensitive) you need to enter to import your forms.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In my case I was receiving the error because my username is all caps but i was entering it with mixed case as when I created it, but E*TRADE changed it to all caps. Strange because I can log in just fine using my mixed case username on the web portal. Web portal login also works using upper case only username.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;TLDR. Case sensitive username (try all uppercase) for importing via turbotax. Case insensitive username when logging in through the web portal.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
