Does Turbo tax free file merge to turbo tax online?

I filed with Turbo Tax Free file last year and this year I do not qualify. I want to purchase Turbo tax online and I am wondering if I start an entire new account or do the two merge?

Hi there,

Stay within the same account you used the Free Edition with, and click on the "Upgrade" button located at the bottom of the vertical navbar. Once you click into that navigation point, you'll be able to upgrade to the other versions of TurboTax.
