This happens to me occasionally too; I have a full-disk backup mounted. I am now careful not to trust Intuit with access permission in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders > "Removable Volumes" option, but it just happened again, which suggests an odd security flaw. It’s none of Intuit’s business what I have on my backup disk, and I’m troubled that it‘s prying there without my permission.

i am able to use my TT premier 2023 on MacOS no problem to complete my first return. now i am working on a 2nd return and when i try to import my 1099's from 2 different brokerages... i get a wierd message that says

We found duplicate installations of turbotax 2023

Either eject your TurboTax 2023 CD or delete duplicate installations of TurboTax 2023 on your computer. Locations are:

/private/var/folders/nz/7bc4xwxj41x2_qhr4705w5x40000gn/T/KdYTBL/TurboTax 2023.app

note that i was able to successfully import another brokerage 1099 just before this problem occured! TT is confusing... it opened a browser window during this process for me to enter my credentials and then it asked to give it permission to open turbotax on my computer. i said yes.
