    <description>&lt;P&gt;If you are a US citizen, all your world-wide income is subject to tax in the US and in your home state. &amp;nbsp;But if you did not have state tax withheld, leave that blank when entering the W-2G. &amp;nbsp;The income will still be added to your state income tax (if you live in a state with income tax) and the tax due will be added to anything else you owe in that state.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You won while in international waters. &amp;nbsp; But you still have to enter the W-2G on your federal tax return and on the state return of the state you live in.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Gambling losses can only be deducted up to the amount of the gambling winnings. &lt;BR /&gt;Gambling winnings are reported on Form 1040 Schedule 1 on Line 8b. The amount from Part I of Schedule 1 Line 10 flows to Form 1040 Line 8. &lt;BR /&gt;Gambling Losses are reported on Form 1040 Schedule A as a Other Itemized Deductions. Gambling losses are not a one-for-one reduction in winnings. Your total itemized deductions reported on Form 1040 Schedule A must be greater than the standard deduction for your filing status to have any tax benefit.&lt;/P&gt;
