The category "Pending" simply means your return has not yet been transmitted to the IRS.

There are three categories.

Pending;
- Your return has not submitted, but
- Has not yet been accepted by the IRS.
Rejected:
- The IRS has looked at your return, but has found an error.
- This can be
  - Incorrect SSN
  - A dependent claimed by someone else
  - Multiple others.
Accepted
- The IRS has not found any technical errors
- The IRS does have the return
- However, the IRS must still process the return,

You can visit the IRS Where's My Refund? site to check if your e-filed return has been received.

Or it might just be a stupid marketing email. I received the same email yesterday, and it was pointless since I know full well what my status is---which is that I am waiting to prepare my return for a few more weeks. If you already filed -----use the IRS refund site to track your refund and ignore marketing emails from TT.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
