My father’s estate was closed September 21,2021 and my personal representative status was terminated. I received early this week from the IRS 4 form 1041-ES vouchers for 2025. Do I need to do anything with these, or call the IRS?

Was a final return filed? Did the estate have any income in the intervening period? Otherwise, it could be sent in error.

Sorry for your loss.

Thank you. We did file a 1041 in 2023 for the sale of his house which took place in 2021. His accountant forgot to file an extension and I was traveling. It got filed in 2023, paid late taxes, and I thought we were done.

Understood. The IRS computers may have generated the forms if the estate did not mark the last return filed as "final".

If there was no intervening income accruing to the estate then you don't need to deal with estimated tax payments although you could contact the IRS to ensure that they did not receive information that triggered sending the estimated tax vouchers.

The accountant marked Initial return, not Final return. Everything else with the estate has been closed.

Do I need to call them, or do I need something from the probate court stating the estate has been closed?

The last return (1041) should have been marked as final.

If there was no intervening income accruing to the estate, then you most likely need to do nothing. You could contact them simply to ensure there was no additional information received at their offices in the interim.
