      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;P&gt;If your child earned no investment income in 2015 such as interest and dividends, you should not claim your child's income on your return even if you claim him as a dependent. He will claim his income on his own return but if he earned less than his Standard Deduction of $6,300 in W-2 wages (if he/she is single), the child is not required to file but may elect to do so if he desires a refund of his withholding&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;
  &lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you are eligible to claim your child as your dependent, and he&amp;nbsp;files his own return, he should check the box &lt;B&gt;Someone else can claim me o their tax return in &lt;/B&gt;the personal information section.&lt;/P&gt;
