TURBOTAX INCOME

For some reason, Turbotax did not ask for specific information on my spouse's income, i.e. 1099 1098R, however, the AGI total looks about right, so I'm a little confused. How can I check these when they don't show up in the review

When you are entering income on a joint return, every income entry screen will either have a spot with both spouse’s names there, or when you click to enter a W-2, 1099R, etc. it will ask you by name which spouse it is for. You do not have to wait for the software to “ask” you for your spouse’s income.

And don't wait for the software to ask for any the spouse's income that is specific to that spouse (like a W-2, or 1099-R, or any bank or financial accounts that are solely in his/her name.)

IF you are filing jointly (MFJ), it wants all your income, of any type, for both of you.

Appreciate the insight. My challenge comes when I go to review/edit income, I can only see my info and not my spouse's

But did you put in anything for your spouse yet?

Like what type of income or form-type did you already enter for him/her?

I had a similar problem a week or two ago, when trying to guide my brother over the phone.

It finally turned out he hadn't expanded his income page to show the entire menu of income items, and I didn't understand what he was looking at.

Thus he only saw the income items already entered at the top of the screen...and to See the ENTIRE Menu, he had to click on a text item showing just below his display of the income items he had already entered....SEE BELOW on what to click on to get the FULL MENU: (this is a prior year display...the text you click on may be worded slightly different)
