I just got the approval for the online extension application. Do I still need to do it again on my Desktop as I do my return?

No, not on the desktop edition. The desktop edition can only complete the extension for printing and mailing. But if you used the Easy Extension website and as long as your name and Social Security numbers are the same on the extension as they are on the 2024 tax return using the desktop edition, you are all good.

No. If your online extension was accepted then you are good. Remember that an extension does not give you extra time to pay your tax due. You have to pay your estimated 2024 tax due by April 15, 2025. The extension only gives you extra time to prepare your Form 1040 and submit it.

No, the extension is controlled by the IRS. It's like your tax return. You only have to file it once.

The software you use is of little consequence.
