We do not know what you mean by "a little bit lower"----do you remember that if you chose to pay from your federal refund there was also a $40 ($45 in CA) refund processing fee that was an EXTRA fee?

How can I see my TurboTax fees?

If you opt to use your federal refund to pay your TurboTax fees.

There's a $40 processing fee charged by the bank that handles the transaction when the IRS processes your return.
