I have a new computer with Turbo Tax 24 installed. How do I get previous year from old computer so that it populates?

HI, You will need to move the 2023 TurboTax File from the old computer to the new computer.

IF you have a Windows PC, the TurboTax File Name ends with ".tax2023"

You will find this file using File Explorer.

Look in your

Documents > TurboTax folder.

This is the default location used by TurboTax. If you changed this location when you installed TurboTax the file will be in the folder you designated at installation time.

You will want to move it to the folder with the same name on your new computer.

That folder should have a ".tax2024" file in it. The ".tax2024" is your 2024 TurboTax file.

While you are moving this file, you may want to move all of your TurboTax and related files to your new computer.

If your new computer is a Mac, I don't know how to find the file - probably using the Finder, but I am unsure.
