why can't I enter information into the div 1099 section?

I keep saying I need to enter information but it doesn't allow me to edit

You can enter your 1099-DIV information using the instructions below. You can also enter Form 1099-DIV using these instructions. You will need to select "Add Investments."

For TurboTax Desktop:

Open/continue your return
Click on "Search"
And in the search bar type"1099-DIV"
Select "Jump to 1099-DIV"
It'll take you to a screen that shows your Form(s) 1099-DIV that you have entered.
Next to the Form 1099-DIV you want to edit, click on the (down-facing) caret
Click on the "Edit"
Make sure the box is checked for "My form has info in other boxes" if your entries involve these boxes.
Make your edits

For TurboTax Online:

Open/continue your return
Click on magnifying glass for Search in the top right of your screen
And in the search bar type"1099-DIV"
Select "Jump to 1099-DIV"
It will take you to a screen that shows your Form(s) 1099-DIV that you have entered.
Next to the Form 1099-DIV you want to edit, click on the (down-facing) caret
Click on the "Edit"
Make sure the box is checked for "My form has info in other boxes" if your entries involve these boxes
Make your edits

Your screens will look something like this:

To search for your 1099-DIV entry screens

Select the Form 1099-DIV that you want to edit:

Select the box that says "My form has info in other boxes" if you have entries in these boxes

I tried that, but there is a glitch in your system. It will not add the 1099 DIV or INT when I follow the steps. And doesn’t allow me to edit…

@elipol1 Which TurboTax product are you using? The TurboTax online web-based editions or the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer? If a desktop edition, Windows or Mac?

I had the exact same glitch. I am unable to enter the 1099-DIV. I hope they fix it soon. I will keep trying.

In TurboTax Premium Online, I am able to enter an IRS form 1099-DIV. I am able to correct or edit the form.

What version of TurboTax are you using? Are you using TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop? Please clarify.

I bought the program on Staples.com and had to download to my computer - Windows version.

Has the license code from TurboTax been installed?

Your license code should be included in your order confirmation email if purchased on a retailer's website, or within the package if purchased in-store.

Check your email or your order history. If it’s not there, please contact TurboTax Customer Support.
