      <title>Efile transmission not going through, error code 2</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am using TT Home and Business.&amp;nbsp; I have completed a federal and a state return.&amp;nbsp; When I transmitted the files, I received a message saying "We are experiencing internet transmission problems.&amp;nbsp; Your transmissions did not go through.&amp;nbsp; Intuits Electronic Filing center did not receive your returns.&amp;nbsp; Please try again later.&amp;nbsp; Error 2"&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried several times and kept getting the message.&amp;nbsp; I loaded TT to another laptop and still received the message.&amp;nbsp; On the second laptop, I then only transmitted the federal return and it successfully transmitted.&amp;nbsp; I then tried transmitting the state file and again received the error.&amp;nbsp; The state is WV and the return has a attachment.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I then loaded TT to a third laptop and attempted to efile the state and received the same error code. I have&amp;nbsp; made sure pop up blockers are off, cleared cache, lowered the windows security setting to medium and set to default.&amp;nbsp; I have downloaded all updates for TT.&amp;nbsp; The file size I am uploading is 11 MB and a pdf required by the state.&amp;nbsp; I do not know if the file attachment is the issue but is the only variance from the federal file which did transmit.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and found a fix?&amp;nbsp; I dread calling customer service because they never seem to be able to help.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/5400964"&gt;@RNDawson&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is a long shot, but did you happen to have an underpayment of WV estimated taxes and thus a penalty?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; If so, the West Virginia Form IT-210 is not yet ready for efiling.&amp;nbsp; The projected date of availability for that form is 2/13/2025.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&amp;amp;product=Turbotax_online&amp;amp;bu=cg" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow noreferrer"&gt;Tax Form Availability Table&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since you efiled the Federal return first, you won't be able to efile the state return until the Federal return has been accepted.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Also go back to the REVIEW tab in the left menu column, and it should run the error check again to see if anything&amp;nbsp; shows up.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm not familiar with WV, so I don't know if/what attachments are allowed in efiles or not.&amp;nbsp; Maybe someone familiar with WV will see the thread, but it would have been more optimal if WV had been mentioned in the thread title to catch some WV eye.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; You can edit it, if you wish to add "WV", by clicking the tiny 3-dot icon just to the right of the thread title.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Update:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The issue was the pdf file size of the WV required attachment. After I resized the file and reattached,&amp;nbsp; the transmission successfully went through and was accepted.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I originally called Intuit for help, I suggested this was the issue because it was the only variable that was different.&amp;nbsp; No one took me seriously. They had me un-install,&amp;nbsp; re-install, adjust this,&amp;nbsp; adjust that and after approximately 45 minutes,&amp;nbsp; the call mysteriously ended.&amp;nbsp; Every year I have a TT issue and get no where with tech support.&amp;nbsp; During the call I also showed them where the program freezes and stops responding every time. No one cared.&amp;nbsp; I've done 3 other returns since then and it is still a issue.&amp;nbsp; I think it is time to use a new product.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I was having the same problem as RNDawson with the Turbotax Bussiness 2024 edition.&amp;nbsp; I'm glad I found this post because this was my exact problem, but it was with the for form 8453(digital signiture).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I rescanned the form as a .jpg instead of .pdf to reduce the file size, and it transmitted no problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Cheers to RNDawson for finding the issue.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;This was super helpful! Worked great for me. I had this error come up when trying to file my 1065 partnership return. The issue was that I had uploaded a PDF of my form 8453-PE (Georgia requires this), which I had created and had a large file size. I re-uploaded the form as a jpeg instead, and let TurboTax format it into a PDF (which they helpfully do). I was able to file my taxes after that. Thanks for posting this!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

If so, and you have attached ANYTHING to the tax file, try reducing the file size.&amp;nbsp; My theory is that their server is set up with a receive time limit (time it takes to receive the data) and any files that exceed that allotted time, be it larger file or slow internet service on your end, error code two pops.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same problem, Error 2 when trying to file Form 1041.&amp;nbsp; After 4 tries at different times of the day, I read this thread.&amp;nbsp; My 8453-FE had been formatted as PDF by Adobe Acrobat and failed to file every time.&amp;nbsp; Size about 900 KB.&amp;nbsp; After reading this I attached the JPG version of the same file, about 800 KB.&amp;nbsp; TTax Business then formatted it to PDF before sending.&amp;nbsp; Filing was successful.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I had this same issue, with e-filing a different state, and after a 90-minute call with TurboTax help desk agent and after numerous troubleshooting steps that didn't resolve the issue, she kept researching and finally discovered the solution.&amp;nbsp; At least, this is what worked for my situation:&amp;nbsp; Reset all internet security zones to default level.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On Windows 11:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Settings&lt;BR /&gt;Network &amp;amp; internet&lt;BR /&gt;Advanced network settings&lt;BR /&gt;Internet Options&lt;BR /&gt;Security (tab)&lt;BR /&gt;Click on [Reset all zones to default level].&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your situation might be different, but I'd love to see you comment whether this does or does not work for you.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Changing the Security settings (including turning off firewall entirely) did not work, still seeing Error 2 for the ~50th time.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am using the installed Desktop edition, TurboTax Premium.&amp;nbsp; I don't understand all the comments about "uploading" PDF files - I didn't upload anything, TurboTax made all the files for filing. Hence I don't see any way to reduce the size of the file that is internal to TurboTax.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Anyone using Desktop (not browser) found an answer to this, a way to get around the Error?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Today is tax day, and I have been trying to get this working all last evening.       <description>&lt;P&gt;I already went through the options in that thread, before I wrote my post.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- They are attaching PDF files, so I assume they are using browser. I am using desktop version. I didn't attach anything.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-&amp;nbsp; I tried changing the security settings discussed (as I said in my post), they didn't help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-&amp;nbsp; I saved, closed, reopened TT, ran update (none found). That didn't help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Q: Is there a way to reduce the size of the file that TT is uploading in the Desktop edition?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What do I try next?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
