Timing of Return being processed

Hi,

My return has been "received", but I owe $. Will the return get "processed" before I pay the amount due?

When the IRS will finish processing your tax return is not known. Sometimes a few days, sometimes weeks and even sometimes months.

If you have taxes owed and are paying those taxes on or before April 15, 2025 then you will not have any issues with the IRS, at least not for the payment of taxes.

Whether the return is "processed" by April 15, 2025 is not key-----you must pay your tax due by April 15, 2025 or you will be subject to owing interest on the amount.
