You would need to download and install 2024 TurboTax on a Windows or MAC computer. If you paid for online TurboTax customer service would be able to push a copy of the desktop version to you.

You can't transfer a 2024 tax file. You need a 2023 tax file to start a 2024 return in TurboTax Online. See - How to Switch to TurboTax Online

To access your tax return after you've e-filed it or printed it as part of mailing your return to the IRS, in TurboTax Online:

Sign in to TurboTax.
Select Tax Home from the menu.
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
Select 2024, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you back in).
You will now be in your return. Select Other Tax Situations on the left menu to find Estimated Taxes.
Or, to print a copy, go to Tax Tools on the left menu, then Print Center.

What do you mean by "cannot access"? To open 2024, you need the 2024 app installed on your new computer.

If you are only trying to transfer 2024 data to 2025, you might try installing the 2024 app, including any states on the W11. Then open and save the file. Then try the transfer process again.

There may be other solutions. This has been a problem reported multiple times.

You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

To access prior-year tax return, follow the steps below for TurboTax Online:

Sign in to your account
Select the down arrow by Your tax returns and documents
Select the year of the tax return that you want to print
Select Download/Print (PDF) your federal and/or state tax return(s).

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Go to this IRS website for free transcripts of a federal tax return - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

For a fee of $30 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
