Transmission didn't go through

I've E-filed and received my federal and state refunds. I needed to file an amendment due to an error entering a W-2. When I transmit the amended returns, it says "Success" and then immediately says "Your transmission didn't go through. We could not e-file your return for the following reason: Tax Year 2024 transmissions are not available." Clearly my E-file worked before, why not now? I called customer service and they said try again later. It's been over 2 weeks that I've been trying to send this amended return.

As of February 9th 2026 I am getting this error message when trying to amend my 2024 Federal taxes. Can you explain what is the issue and when it will be resolved

Your transmission didn't go through

We could not e-file your return for the following reason:

The Intuit Electronic Filing Center is closed for the 2024 Personal Income Tax filing season. November 15, 2025 was the last day to file returns electronically.

To fix this, update your software, and ensure the signature date is current.

Amended returns are not processed immediately, and can take up to 12 weeks to process. The IRS does not typically accept Efiled amended returns until mid-February for the prior tax year.

I am also having this issue. I get this message after attempting to e-file an amended return for 2024:

"Your transmission didn't go through

We could not e-file your return for the following reason:

The Intuit Electronic Filing Center is closed for the 2024 Personal Income Tax filing season. November 15, 2025 was the last day to file returns electronically."

Does this mean that I have to submit the form in paper format? My initial tax return was e-filed.

@Chender The 2024 amended tax return cannot be e-filed using TurboTax, you will have to print and mail the amended return.

I have the same issue today. I have tried twice to e-file the tax return through the Desktop Version of TurboTax Home and Small Business, but got this error message.
