If it is powered by solar, yes. Generators used to generate electricity for your home may be eligible for federal energy tax credits if they meet certain government criteria. Your generator may qualify as a renewable energy source if it is powered by solar, wind, geothermal, or fuel cell energy. Qualified expenses include the costs of new clean energy property including:

Solar electric panels

Solar water heaters

Wind turbines

Geothermal heat pumps

Fuel cells

Battery storage technology (beginning in 2023)

Used (previously owned) clean energy property is not eligible.
