Can I claim them along with the standard mileage deduction? I understand the interior cleaning you can’t but I read you can but then read you can’t.

No, car washes are considered more along the lines of maintenance which would fall under the actual expenses. The only additional expenses allowed with the standard mileage are Parking fees and tolls.

car washes can not be included in addition to the standard mileage. business portion of expenses that can be included in addition to the standard mileage are

1) tolls

2) parking

3) interest

4) property taxes
