Yes, you can make changes, just follow the steps 1-4 in the FAQ above then you can make the changes before you e-file the return.

It shouldn't have done that, but can you click cancel amend? Then it should bring you back to the Tax Home, then scroll down click on "add a State" again and it should open on the left (black area) My Info, Federal, etc.
