      <description>&lt;P&gt;Appliances purchased for your personal residence are not deductible. &amp;nbsp;If they are for a rental property, they would be deductible as a ordinary and necessary business expense. &amp;nbsp;Also, if you were in a federally declared disaster area and had to replace appliances not covered by insurance, you may be able to deduct as a casualty loss. &amp;nbsp;Also, if you purchased appliances and donated them to a charity, you would be able to deduct as a charitable deduction.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
