I have two 1099-DIV's from the same company each having a different account number. Since I don't enter the account number when entering the 1099-DIV for this company, should I add the two together?

No, I would enter each one separately. You can enter different names for them to tell them apart. Like Fidelity Acct 123 and Fidelity Acct 456.

You can add the amounts together if you'd like for one entry. In the end, they will be combined by TurboTax.

However, for most users, the process is less prone to entry errors when they are entered separately.

Yes, entering each one separately is the best option. I set up two 1099-DIV names showing Firm name and account number on each. Detailed supporting schedules will show the detail for each account. If combined, supporting schedules will not show each account's detail.

Hi,
I can look at the Forms 1099-Div and see 2 worksheets for both accounts from my broker. But when I go to the step by step "Picture of Your 2024 Income" the Dividends show there only add up to the amount of just one of the accounts from the broker. It doesn't appear to be adding them up on this page. How can I be sure that dividends are being reported in total?

I went to the Form 1040 and it is clearly not adding the second account. It only shows on the Form 1040 the ordinary dividends from Form 1099-Div from the first account. What to do?

I, too, want to name the different 1099-DIV forms I received from the same financial company using the company name and the last four digits of the account numbers. Where in TurboTax online's 1099-DIV form can I do this? I do not see a box for form name. Can the last four of the account number be added to the company name in the "Received from" box under Payer's information?

Yes, you should add the numbers to the payor's name.
