2024 Federal Tax Extension

Turbotax will not let me file an extension for federal taxes for 2024. I get the following message:

It looks like this filing is not available

We are currently not accepting filings of this type.

When you select Sign out, we'll sign you out of your TurboTax account

Anyone else having this issue?

You are trying to file an online extension too soon. The form for that comes out sometime around mid-March. If you want to prepare an extension request on paper and mail it in you can get the form from the IRS.

Thanks, it dawned on me after posting that it may be too early. I looked back last year to see when extension was filed and it was right before the deadline.
