3 W2’s from one company. Boxes 18-20 different

I have 3 W2’s from the same company.
One says “Federal filing copy” and two say “city or local filing copy”.
Boxes 18-20 are different on each. However I have only worked in one place.

Main company is a different state— not sure if that matters considering I’ve never worked there.
Is something incorrect or do I need to add a new row for each?

I'm so confused. I’ve never dealt with this issue while filing taxes.

You should enter the federal portion of the W-2 as stated, then enter a separate line for each state in the same entry. It doesn't matter that the company is located in another state. So, make one W-2 entry but enter a separate line for each state in boxes 16 to 20.

But...check the Federal W-2 copy for those extended 18-20 lines, to see if the Federal copy is just the total of the other two.

IF the Federal copy shows the total of the other two for boxes 18-20, then you don't enter that total on the software W-2 form....you just enter the broken-down details form the two extra W-2 forms....usually there is a text selection below boxes 18-to-20, that lets you Add another line, or Add another Locality.

So it is normal to have differing “city or local filing” copies even though I have always only worked at one address? I was attempting to google info before posting and some say to enter a certain way (like you have) and others say to contact HR because the difference is saying that I would have worked in more than one location.
The federal W2 has box 18 as empty (the other two are both different amounts) and box 19 on all three are differing.

Also, box 20 has locality name as “TOTAL CITY” on federal. Again both of the other two differing with specific locality numbers.

I hope that made sense. This is all new to me and I’ve never had issues filing my own taxes. 😅

As to why you have two different local/city lines?

That's something you'd have to talk to your employer/HR/Payroll people about.

Maybe it's required for your job location, or maybe it's a mistake that will require them to issue you a corrected W-2 (a W-2C)
