TurboTax made a computation error on Form 8853 line 21. You used 420 instead of 410 as the multiplier as printed on the form. You have since done an update and corrected the math problem over the past weekend. I refiled the return and it was accepted. The other problem is that you charged me twice for the filing and refiling of the tax return when it was your error and not mine. This pisses me off because it was a TurboTax error that caused the problem to start with. This causes concern as I am an automatic yearly renewal client.

Please clarify - what was the error code that you received from the IRS?

TurboTax doesn't charge to make the correction and resubmit it. However, if when you went back to your return you had to add additional forms or upgraded to a different version there might be a price increase. You can contact our customer service:

What's the TurboTax phone number?

Can I get the e-filing fee refunded if my state return got rejected?

@lrb001
