This is a new install on a new computer and it is activated. I am not able to download a state to get past the initial screen when opening my tax file or starting a new one.

TurboTax for 2020 is no longer supported. Updates and state downloads for 2020 are no longer available.

Also note that it is too late to get a refund for 2020.

The IRS is requesting we amend our 2020 tax filing. We filed with turbo tax Home and Business, downloaded the State of CA originally. I cannot even open my 2020 .Tax turbo tax file as I get stuck on the download State loop (error 190) and the "We hit a snag" error. I want to be able to amend the file, print and mail the amendment to the IRS as requested. Is that possible?

Sorry, but it is not possible to do that with a new installation of 2020 TurboTax. If you still have the computer that you used for the original 2020 tax return, and the original installation of TurboTax is still there, you might be able to do it on that computer.

Cutting off support in only 3 years is absurd. Support for a more extensive archive at least is almost trivial. C'mon, Intuit, you're making plenty of money off of us. I need support for 2020, 2019 and maybe earlier. TurboTax Premier for Mac.
