That depends on the version the online software you are using ----but generally state returns are $39 or $49

Currently state is $39 in the Online versions in Deluxe and above. Here is the page for Deluxe. Click on State Additional

If you have the fees deducted from your Federal refund there is an EXTRA $40 Pay with Refund service charge. ($45 in California). Which you can avoid by paying the fees upfront with a credit card.
