Can someone confirm that this place is a scam?

I purchased the turbo tax product from them and it installed on my machine but not on my mom's machine. I got the dreaded error code 605.

Then i spoke with someone from Turbo tax...third person i spoke with and they said Big Home Tax is a scam. First one just said try reinstalling or my firewall may have stopped it. That wasnt the case. I just want to make sure that this is definitely a scam. I think it is because Big Home Tax does not respond at all. I spent money on a product that doesnt work. I knew something was up when they didnt respond to me. I will just buy directly from Amazon i guess. No more finding lowest price. Can someone confirm that this place is a scam? Price did beat Amazon.

No, we do not have a list of scammers. I believe I have seen Big Home Tax mentioned unfavorably a few times in the user forum though, and they are clearly not on the list of authorized sellers.

Someone is now telling me that you can only activate it on one pc but then you can use multiple federal returns. That is not how it used to be. I would always install it on my mom's pc and it would activate.

I really need to know if things changed here. Why would it only be able to be used on one machine?

You can still download and install the Desktop program on 5 computers. You just need to log into the same online account to install it.

Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account when you first install it, all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac) you can download it again.

You can download the desktop software to up to five computers that YOU own. What you cannot do any more is give out your license key to let other people download it to their computers. The license key and the download are linked to YOUR online account with TurboTax. You can prepare Mom's return for her on your computer or let Mom come over and do it for herself. You still get up to five federal e-files with desktop.

Yes, I did all that.

I downloaded it on my mom's pc, then i logged in to my account and i saw the code there with the numbers hidden except that last 4 digits and i clicked activate and then got that error 605. It didnt activate.

So what i need to know is if Big Home Tax is a scam seller and these codes were used by someone else they sold to? I cant get any response from Big Home Tax.

Ok, i have always bought this and then downloaded and activated it on my pc and then did the same on my mom's pc. I logged into my account and tried to activate it on hers like i always have done, but it wont activate. I paid for this and it said it had 5 federal returns. How do i get this to work????

How do you know how many computers I own?

That has never been the case in the past.

I have always downloaded this on my mom's pc and then activated it there. NOt sure why i get this error. I need help.

After reviewing information on Reddit, I have learned that Big Home Tax is in fact a scam operation.

I am calling my credit card company. It looks like BHT just keeps selling these over and over...resulting in cancelled licenses. DO NOT BUY FROM BIG HOME TAX. Buy from an authorized retailer.

I also purchased from BHT this year, first and last time! While I got the federal program downloaded and activated, even after spending 5 hours with Turbotax support I could never get the state programs to load after buying them separately (Turbotax Business desktop version). From what I could see in my Intuit account, the license key for my product was no longer valid. BHT has not responded to any inquiries. In all my years of using Turbotax I have never had this issue and have never felt the need to post anything. Will never use BHT again.

Scam operation. Reddit members had similar experiences. BHT never responds.

Reported them to Better Business Bureau. They are not authorized to sell these products. I uninstalled the app and deleted the exe. Then I bought TT deluxe from Amazon. $10 more or so but that is okay. Not doing that save a buck mission again...only within authorized retailers.

THIS IS A SCAM SITE SELLING USED LICENSES FOR SOFTWARE! I purchased a personal tax program as well as a business tax program at the same time. Both licenses popped a code 605 while trying to activate and said they were invalid. I contacted the company through their "text" helpline and was provided with two different codes. Both of those showed invalid as well when trying to activate. I was given a 3rd set of activation keys which also failed. Stay away.
