Please clarify your question.

If you are in the TurboTax desktop version, you should not be making corrections in the FORMs mode.

Are you on the TurboTax desktop version, and trying to change things in the FORMs mode?

On Sched B 1099-INT - it entered the wrong state for my address then it finds a state/zip mismatch but will only let me fix the zip when the zip is correct.

Did you make corrections in the MY Info portion of the return?

I checked - MY ADDRESS has the correct state and ZIP. I don't know where it got this info but it won't let me fix the error

Is this the same 1099-INT mentioned above?

On a 1099-$ - it keeps telling me that the "RMD Box" needs to be checked if this is an RMD - it isn't. I looked - when inputting the 1099-R I said none of it was an RMD. Why is it asking me this question?

I don't recall an RMD check box on a 1099-R. Could it be an IRA check box?

Please contact us again to provide some additional details.

Well, I tried to paste pictures of the screens I am seeing but, despite having a pic import button, apparently, that isn't allowed - complained about HTML when I pressed post...

I have looked (repeatedly) at the "My Info" section and the data is correct. My address state is VA. The check this entry screen for Sched B Form 1099-INT screen has "Recipient's address" state as "MA". And, yes, same 1099. It only allows me to change the ZIP not the state - the ZIP displayed is right.

The Form 1099-R "check this entry" screen is where the RMD box shows up. This 1099-R is not an RMD. On the data entry screens it specifically asked - and I specifically answered it is not and RMD (and, since this is a pension and not an IRA or 401K (which was ALSO asked and answered) - I don't get why this is showing up.

An error of that type, usually is the result of uploading a picture, or PDF of your 1099-INT instead of just entering it manually.

Delete that 1099-INT entirely, then enter the data manually, and that error won't occur (well....probably won't...95% sure).

___________________

Uploads of PDF files, or Pictures of your tax documents can end up with all sorts of errors. The AI that "interprets" the info on a picture or PDF, is simply not good enough for error free interpretation...

The issue for the pension, is that once you reach age 73, and RMD is required. Its' even required of a pension, even though you have no control over it. The pension provider's original calculations has already met the requirements for the RMD.

You just indicate it is ALL an RMD and that the box 1 value is the RMD amount. (But when it asks how much was the RMD, round the cents amount down to the even $ amount ...there are bugs in the RMD calcs with some strange rounding going on)

I did that, and it stopped complaining but military retirement is not a 401K... If all pensions need to be treated as RMDs, why does the program ask if it is an RMD when inputting the data?

I'll give it a try but interestingly last year when I was 77, it did not ask for an RMD on my two annuities. One annuity (pension) is from Office of Personnel Management for my federal annuity and there's no information on the website to allow me to calculate it. I hope turbo tax looks at this situation.

If you are receiving a pension from the Office of Personal Management, which is considered a qualified plan, you don't have to calculate RMD, because all of it is considered RMD.

Military retirement and annuities from insurance companies are non-qualified plans, and an RMD is not required. There was an issue in TurboTax Online in which non-qualified plans were treated as though they were qualified plans, and requiring an RMD.

However, that issue has now been fixed with the latest update, and you can indicate that you have a distribution from a non-qualified plan.
