WHEN I PURCHASED TURBO TAX PREMIERI THOUGHT I COULD FILE MY STATE TAXES WITHOUT A CHARGE BUT IT COST ME $25.00 !! WHY

The included state is for the state program in order to prepare the state return. There is a $25 efile fee for each state return efiled, except no fee for NY or WA state. There is no fee to print and mail the state return.

When you purchased the TurboTax Premier desktop edition, there was one free state program download included in the purchase price. This did not include a free state e-file.

There is a current $25 state tax return e-file fee for each state tax return e-filed. This charge can be avoided by printing and mailing the state tax return.

There has been a state e-file fee when using the TurboTax desktop editions for at least the last 25 years.
