I am divorced and my daughter lives solely with me. I have claimed her as a dependent the last several years and I have filed as Head of Household. My daughter turned 19 in JUly 2024 and graduated HS in JUne 2024. MY daughter has autism and mental illness. I have provided 100% of her living expenses. She has no job/income. Turbo Tax will not allow me to claim HoH in 2024? Why? My daughter lived with me 100% of the time and is considered a full time student in 2024.

When entering her as your dependent, did your enter that she lived with you for the whole year. Did you enter that she was a full time student. Did you enter that you provided over one-half of her support (or did you indicate that she did NOT provide over one-half of her own support). Did you NOT check the box "not valid of employment" in the Social Security number section.

If all answers are correct, delete her as a dependent and re-enter.

I deleted her as a dependent and re-entered her data. It now works. Looks like there is a glitch in the Turbo Tax software.
