I'm filing my son's taxes and his W2 doesn't have a federal copy. Will they accept copy C for the employee records?

Yes, the Copy C will be acceptable.

Yes, the copies all have the same data. However, if you are e-filing, all the information is transmitted electronically and you do not need to send anything. If you paper file, make sure you make enough copies that you have one for your records.
