Why can't TurboTax get this form correct so filing is able to be completed? There is no excuse for the multiple delays in releasing this form. I have been a customer for decades and this is the worst customer experience I have had.

Why do we have to wait? Why is this not ready? The form has not changed.

As of this moment, there is a 2024 version of this form available from irs.gov. It's a draft version that cannot be used for filing:

The 2024 draft version looks the same as the 2023 version to me, except for the year printed on the form. I don't know what the IRS is waiting for, but it doesn't seem unreasonable for TT to hold off until it's finalized.

I realize it's frustrating. I'm waiting for it too.

Is it still unavailable ? I just received an error message and asking me to print my federal return because it requires a donee signature on the form ?

Form 8283 is now available for e-file. If you are still getting an error, make sure your software is up to date and you have cleared your cache and cookies.

I’ve done everything, even downloaded the Turno Tax app and it’s still giving the message “You have an entry on Form 8283, Donee Acknowledgment which requires a donee's signature, electronic attachment is not supported. Print this return and file by mail.”

Since your return is being rejected with a message saying "You have an entry on Form 8283, Donee Acknowledgement which required a donee's signature, electronic attachment is not supported," you will need to print out and mail your tax return.

The taxing agency has implemented new standards for 2024 tax returns that essentially says if Form 8382 has a noncash donation where the donee is listed, then the form must be signed.

Please follow the steps here to print and file your tax return.
